When one business is impacted, we all are. That is why it is so important to keep up on legislation and other local matters. Just recently the businesses at the corner of Stark and Troutdale Road were notified that the major arterial (Stark Street) will be closed for 4 to 6 months. All traffic, customers and suppliers, will be diverted and forced to use detours. Of course, this is devastating news to any business during its peak season, but to the Service and Restaurant establishments and their employees impacted by this closure – it could mean life or death.
As of this writing, it appears the road closure is moving forward. So, when you are thinking local this summer, we at “Try Local First” hope you make special extra effort to visit the businesses impacted by the closure. Take the scenic route, then stop in and patronize Skyland Pub, the Troutdale Dairy Queen, the new Thai Restaurant Chaing Rai, Riverview Restaurant and all the other businesses located nearby. They will be super grateful you did.
