Women are talkers, planners, coordinators, gatherers and a million other conduits for connection! And as such, women know a lot of people! Another attribute of women is helping! So, you put that all together and some pretty amazing things can happen!
That being said, there is a group of women, 100+ Women Who Care East County, that before COVID, met together once a quarter, for an hour and raised thousands of dollars for local charities! Last year, in a virtual meeting, $13,000 was raised that was shared between Meals on Wheels, SnowCap Community Charities and Birch Community Services! Each one of these organizations were extremely grateful and it certainly made a difference in their expanded roles and services due to COVID!
Moving forward, waiting for “in-person” meetings does not help those in our community, so to keep this good work going we are scheduling a virtual meeting and we need your help to make this a success! The virtual Zoom meeting is scheduled for May 6th, 2021 at 6:15pm. The three charities that will be the focus of this meeting are, Soroptimist International of Gresham-sigresham.org, Shooting Star Adventures-shootingstaradventures.org and Women Sew Global Foundation-womensewglobalfoundation.org. If you would like to know more about these organizations, please go to their websites listed here.
So, being the women that we are, please tell all your friends and all those people you know about this wonderful opportunity to help these amazing local non-profit organizations that need our help!
Bess and a group of locally focused business leaders started the local chapter of 100 Women Who Care in 2019. This group is just one of many that Bess and her staff and Gresham Ford belong to and actively work to improve the Gresham area community.
