Special thoughts and prayers to the family of Secretary of State Dennis Richardson.  He was one of a kind – a true public servant – caring more about the public than about the next election.  He loved our State and was willing to work with all sides to make it a better place now and in the future.  His type of leadership is sorely missing on the landscape of today’s politics.  Hope his passing makes others want to “grow up and be just like him”.

The passing of our own John Wilson who worked for Pamplin Media Group will leave a void in many parts of our community.   I remember just last fall when John called me so excited that because of the Car Show in Troutdale they were able to donate over $2,000 to SnowCap’s Fill-A-Bag.   He lived for those moments of giving to his community whether it be helping organize the Car Show, serving on City Council, or just plain being a great local citizen!  He even made driving a Chevrolet cool!  Bless you John!!

Then we find our Outlook Editor in Chief had to have a serious medical procedure….so we wish Steve Brown well and a speedy recovery!

And lastly don’t forget that tomorrow Saturday, March 9th  from 10am-4pm, is “Drive 4 UR School” at Gresham Ford….the no pressure “drive around the block”. Ford Motor Company, partnering with Gresham Ford will donate $20 per test drive, up to $8,000 for the day.  It’s the easiest way to support your schools ever!  All it will cost you is about 20 minutes of your time!  And who wouldn’t want to drive a brand-new Mustang!! Centennial Football and Lewis & Clark Montessori Charter School are the participating schools for this event!  So, grab mom, dad, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, neighbors, anyone you can think of and come on down and support our kids!!  We’ve got a Mustang just waiting for you!!
