When John and Anna Canzano founded the Bald-Faced Truth Foundation in 2009 their mission was to help kids. And now, some 14,000 smiling faces later, we get the privilege of honoring this commitment. They were recently named as one of this year’s Portland Adventist Hospital Foundation’s Heroes of the Heart Nominees. The event is scheduled for Wednesday, March 14th at the Portland Art Museum from 5:30 to 9:00 p.m. In addition, to the Honorees, six-time Grammy Award Winner Amy Grant will be the featured guest. In a world where celebrities are using their voices to promote themselves – it is refreshing that these local celebrities not only use their voices to help others, but their resources as well. From football camps to piano lessons, they have provided scholarships for families with financial limitations and have literally changed the trajectory of local young lives. We want to congratulate them upon this well-deserved recognition and thank them for their commitment to making a difference in our most precious asset – our children.
Speaking of kids – let’s help our community’s Davis Park get some special help from the Portland Trail Blazers and Moda Health, three parks have been nominated in Oregon. Our kids need safe spaces to enjoy the great outdoors and this would give a much needed upgrade to a local park. The challenge is on…get out and vote!
